Our little trip!

Matt is a research assistant for this summer. He had to do field work at Willipa Bay and we were able to accompany him! We stood in a cottage located near Oysterville and Long Beach, WA. It was about a 6 hour drive and it was worth it to just get away for a bit. Matt did work in the morning and then had fun with us when he got back!

On the strip near Long Beach, they had a few carnival rides and although Will was too young (2yrs and older) for the bumper cars, he still enjoyed watching.

He had the choice of either the "horsie's or the buggy cars" and he picked the cars. He seemed a little uneasy the whole time but, when it was time to get off he said, "more more" and whined a bit, go figure!

And then we enjoyed Long Beach. Supposedly it's the longest beach in the world?! It's 28 miles long and you can drive on it- oh and did I mention that it was SANDY?! We bought a shovel and pale just for the occasion.

Matt brought Will over to the "better" sand for making sand castles.

And as I was snapping shots of them being so cute, the water came out of nowhere! It was pretty hilarious!

Will had a time-out on a log nearby for throwing the sand, just like in this pic!

And of course, we had our kite attached to a log, flying nearby.

We went to a very yummy ice cream place nearby. When we got there, Will kept saying, "gumball gumball" and we didn't understand why! He never eats gumballs, but he knows of the gumball machine (from blockbuster) and that's what he'd seen. We didn't notice it until we were all done and ready to go. Anyways, he ate his bubble gum flavored ice cream and when he was through, we let him watch the gumball go round and round in the machine. We didn't realize that there was a sign that said if you got the yellow gumball that said Winner on it, you would get a free cone. Of course Will won! And since we already ate our ice creams, we got a credit for the next time we go back there... If only we listened and let Will do it from the beginning!

Friday morning we went to a yummy little bakery and then off to their cute little park. Will thought he was so cool with his sunglasses as he stood on the see-saw like a big kid!

This was a bit scary for me but, Will totally climbed the whole wall all on his own. I was pretty impressed.

And he totally zonked out for a couple hours while driving back. We got this flag at their supermarket right before we left and he passed out as he took the SKU sticker and passed it from hand to hand. (you can see it bunched up in his right hand)

It was a great time and I'm glad Matt wanted us to be there with him. It's nice to get away-even if it's just for a couple of days!

Silly boy!

I love his cheesy little smiles! He's so funny. He just does the silliest things now! I love that!

Baby Seal!

Okay so, this pic of Carley is super blurry-sorry!

Carley called us up to see what we were doing and said we should come by for a bit to see the baby seal. She only had it for a few more hours because she had to drive it to a place that would help it get well (I think it was PAWS?).

Will kept pointing at him and saying, "baby seal".

I just wanted to cuddle with him! Isn't his coat amazing?!

Mt. Baker!

It was such a nice day out that we decided to go on a drive to Mt. Baker. It's so cool to be able to find snow at pretty much any time of the year so close by!

Bike rides!

This trailer is great! Matt and Will love their bike rides. Whenever Will hears the word "bike", he gets super excited and says, "bike ride, bike ride" over and over again. I'm a little jealous that my protruding belly prohibits me from bike riding at this time but, on the other hand, I do get to rest while they're out and about! Matt's been great about giving me time for resting and I love him more for that.

Will's practicing...

...his brothering skills! He was really into diapering Elmo. It was fun to watch how much he concentrated on it.

It took a little while and I had to help him a bit but, we finally managed to get the diaper between Elmo's legs and he fastened the sides!

And of course, you hug your baby after all your hard work of getting it on! He did that all on his own. It was so sweet.

Oh and some last minute adjustments are usually necessary!

1st Buzz Cut!

Matt was going to shave his own head and so, he suggested that we should also do Will's. I was not up for buzzing my little boys soft long hair. I was pretty sad about this but, Matt did mention that it's been hot and he'll be a lot more comfy that way so, I gave in.

Before...

The first buzz... He was okay with it for a second and then freaked out when he looked down and saw his hair falling near his feet! And then Matt jokingly says, "your hair is falling out" (which was pretty funny).

Matt buzzed a bit of his own hair to calm Will. He totally stopped freaking out and let dad finish up!

Will was a great sport as long as I helped to brush the hair off that fell on his body.

After...

He ran out of the bathroom when Matt was done, found me, and rubbed his head with one hand. I asked him where his hair went and he said, "all gone" as he brushed his arm off. Later, I asked him again and he said, "home."...haha(I thought that was pretty funny!)

Also, when he looked at himself in the mirror, he had a huge smile on his face and he giggled at himself.

I kept a lock of hair for his baby book. I wonder when it'll ever be that long again. I really do love his buzz cut now. I just can't believe how grown up my little boy looks. He has his dad's hair type but definitely my cowlick (it's the right spelling, I looked it up!).

Oh and the cool thing about this pic is that as soon as Will saw the camera out, he said, "cheeese" and smiled! He's finally got it after a trillion pics have been taken...lol

p.s. Amy J., the funny thing is that I totally said he looked like Jarom to Matt like right after he got his haircut!
